A Clear Route from Opportunity to Agreement
Lead to Deal acts as a specialized commercial agent in the environmental technology sector. We assess industrial opportunities, connect them with suitable technology or engineering partners and facilitate progress between the parties.
Our involvement adapts to the project’s stage, the information available and the support required.
Agree on the Role Before Moving Forward
Every opportunity begins with an initial conversation. We establish the requirement, your connection to the project and where L2D can contribute.
Before progressing beyond the initial review, we clarify our role, the parties we will work with, information-sharing permissions and any applicable commercial arrangements.
This gives everyone a clear understanding of the collaboration before substantial time is invested.
Six Stages, Adapted to Each Opportunity
Some projects begin with an early industrial need. Others arrive as a defined RFQ or require support during an existing commercial discussion.
The stages below provide a working framework. The starting point and level of involvement depend on the opportunity.
01
Review the Initial Context
We examine the industrial application, project location, current stage and information available. We also establish who is involved and what they need to achieve.
The aim: determine whether there is a relevant basis for further assessment.
02
Clarify and Qualify
We work with the source or project team to understand the technical requirement, expected timing, decision process and commercial context.
Where information is incomplete, we identify what needs clarification before approaching a supplier. Early-stage projects can still be considered, provided their uncertainties are understood.
The aim: establish a credible opportunity with enough context for a useful first discussion.
03
Select and Match
We identify technology suppliers or engineering partners whose capabilities suit the application, project scope and location.
Selection considers relevant experience, technical suitability, capacity and ability to respond. We then facilitate an introduction with the context needed to assess interest.
The aim: connect the requirement with companies equipped to pursue it.
04
Align the Requirement and Proposal
As discussions develop, L2D helps the parties clarify scope, assumptions, interfaces and outstanding questions.
We coordinate communication so that suppliers can prepare proposals based on a shared understanding of the requirement. Differences between what is requested and what is offered should become visible before they create avoidable delays.
The aim: support a proposal that responds clearly to the project’s technical and commercial needs.
05
Facilitate Commercial Discussions
We help maintain progress during clarification and negotiation by coordinating open points, following up on decisions and ensuring that concerns reach the appropriate people.
Depending on the agreed role, our involvement may cover discussions around scope, delivery schedules, payment milestones, guarantees and other commercial conditions.
The participating companies approve their own terms and make their own commitments.
The aim: help the parties work toward an informed and workable agreement.
06
Support the Handover
When an agreement is reached, L2D can help maintain continuity between the commercial phase and project execution.
Where required, we help confirm the main contacts, immediate next steps and outstanding matters to be transferred to the delivery teams.
The aim: preserve the understanding developed during the commercial process as execution begins.
Clear Roles Throughout the Process
Lead to Deal
Reviews opportunities, identifies suitable partners and facilitates technical and commercial communication within the agreed scope.
Technology Suppliers & Engineering Partners
Remain responsible for their assessments, designs, proposals, pricing, performance commitments and contracted delivery.
Clients & Project Owners
Reviews opportunities, identifies suitable partners and facilitates technical and commercial communication within the agreed scope.
The Next Step Depends on the Project
For an early-stage requirement, progress may mean finding an engineering partner to define the solution. For a developed RFQ, it may mean obtaining a relevant proposal. During negotiation, it may mean resolving the conditions needed for an agreement.
L2D’s role is to identify where we can contribute and help the parties take that next step.
Qualification and a suitable introduction improve the basis for discussion. They do not guarantee a contract: the outcome depends on technical feasibility, investment decisions, competition and the terms accepted by the parties.
